Indigenous Cultural Program
- Ever Presence Haven’s Indigenous Cultural Program is crafted after the Western Canadian Protocol Framework for Aboriginal Language and Culture Programs.
- Ever Presence Haven’s goal is to provide Individual participant the skills (including language) that will help them to.
- Find balance within themselves to live peacefully and respectfully with themselves, one another and the land.
- Play a role in revitalizing Aboriginal languages and cultures.
Outcome
Refer to as Cultural Outcomes. These include cultural understanding, cultural skill, and personal development outcomes.
Indigenous Cultural
The framework of our program reflects the three organizers of the Aboriginal cultural content – The Aboriginal perspective, Outcomes and Personal development.
The Aboriginal perspective is reflected in our program through the three “laws of relationships”
- Laws of Sacred Life (including respect for oneself)
- Laws of Nature
- Laws of Mutual Support.
Personal Development
These are developmental levels upon which outcomes are based. The individual participant will demonstratethe ability to:
- Participate in the practices and use of the products of their Aboriginal culture.
- Understand the perspectives and underlying knowledge of their Aboriginal culture.
- Willingly reflect on their relationships with themselves, one another and the natural world.
Community Support
Ever Presence Haven understands the importance of the community for the successful implementation of its program framework. Our program can only be effective if there is a strong base community support for the revitalization of Aboriginal culture and language. We will routinely involve members of the community; we will collaborate with stakeholders and elders to authenticate and maintain local control over program content so that their interests and unique cultural perspectives are reflected in the program that serves individual participants.
